Dünya, 11 Ağustos saat 11:55’te evinde ölü bulunan Robin Williams’ın yasını tutuyor. Komşuları, Robin Williams’ın evde hareketsiz olduğunu fark edince polise haber verdi ve polis olay yerine geldi. Görünen manzara herkesi şok etmişti. Polislerin araştırmalarından çıkan ilk sonuca göre, Williams’ın intihar etmiş olabileceğinin üzerinde duruluyor.
63 yaşında hayata veda eden Williams, 1987 yılında Günaydın Vietnam filminde canladırdığı rol ile ün kazandı. Bu film sayesinde komedi ve dram alanında önü daha da açıldı. 1997 yılında Empire Magazine’in gelmiş geçmiş en yetenekli 100 aktör sıralamasında 63. sırada kendine yer buldu. Williams hayatı boyunca yaptığı işler sonucunda, 1 Oscar, 2 Emmy, 6 Altın Küre, 6 Grammy ve 2 Sinema Oyuncuları Derneği ödülü almıştır.
